My name is Calum Urquhart. I’m a 23 year old all-round naturalist originally from Cambridgeshire. After 3 years studying Conservation Biology and Ecology (BSc hons) at the University of Exeter Penryn campus, plus 1 year on a placement at Aigas Field Centre in the Highlands, I graduated with a 1st class degree. I’ve had a keen interest in birds from the age of 6, which has grown into a broader interest in natural history, from plants and bryophytes to invertebrates- particularly beetles (Coleoptera) and true bugs (Heteroptera). I’ve been fortunate enough to put my interests to use working as an entomologist, undertaking terrestrial invertebrate surveys and identification work. This website is about the wildlife that I find; my pan-species listing endeavours; wildlife identification; ecology and conservation.
